Below are the entry requirements for the Dominican Republic. Please not these are fluid and can change with little notice.Please see above and note the “last updated” date. You will also find a link(s) at the bottom of the page with the most up-to-date information which we encourage you to review the week prior to travel. The following information applies to those with a Canadian passport and who are fully vaccinated. If this does not apply to you, please contact your Travel Advisor.

Most travelers from Canada with proof of full COVID-19 vaccination can enter Dominican Republic, but there are restrictions.

Travelers are allowed to enter the Dominican Republic. Please check the documentation, quarantine, and/or testing requirements before traveling.

Quarantine may be required
Travelers with a high temperature or with symptoms will be required to take a COVID-19 rapid test. If they test positive, they will be required to quarantine at a designated facility.

No proof of a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test required for entry
Travelers are not required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result before traveling to the Dominican Republic.

No visa required

DOCUMENTS YOU NEED FOR YOUR TRIP

Travelers departing from Canadian airports require proof of vaccination
All travelers departing from Canada via air, rail, or cruise ships need to be fully vaccinated. This requirement applies to all travelers aged 12 years plus 4 months and older. This requirement applies to international and domestic departures. Fully vaccinated travelers must have received a full course of vaccination with an accepted vaccine. The accepted 2 dose vaccines are: -AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD (ChAdOx1-S, Vaxzevria, AZD1222); -Bharat Biotech (Covaxin, BBV152 A, B, C); -Medicago Covifenz; -Novavax (NVX-COV2373, Nuvaxovid, Covovax); -Moderna (mRNA-1273); -Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty, tozinameran, BNT162b2); -Sinopharm BIBP (BBIBP-CorV); -Sinovac (CoronaVac, PiCoVacc). The accepted 1 dose vaccine is: -Janssen/Johnson & Johnson. Travelers that have received a combination of 2 accepted vaccines are considered fully vaccinated. Travelers must have received their last dose at least 14 days before arrival. Travelers who fail to comply, refuse, or provide untruthful information on this measure, may be subject to a penalty or a fine.

Mandatory travel declaration form before arrival
Travelers are required to fill out an electronic entry form before arrival, which combines the Traveler’s Health Affidavit, Customs Declaration, and International Embarkation/Disembarkation forms. Once completed, it will provide a QR code that will be scanned by the authorities on arrival. The form must be completed individually by each traveler and travelers must complete the form a maximum of 72 hours before arrival in the Dominican Republic. When traveling as a family, it is not necessary for each traveler in the same family to fill out an individual form. Mandatory travel declaration form before exiting the Dominican Republic

Travelers are required to fill out an electronic entry form before departure, which combines the Traveler’s Health Affidavit, Customs Declaration, and International Embarkation/Disembarkation forms. The form must be completed individually by each traveler and, once completed, it will provide a QR code that will be scanned by the authorities before departure. The form must be completed individually by each traveler and travelers must complete the form a maximum of 72 hours before departure from the Dominican Republic. The form should be filled out before departure check in to avoid delay and possibility of denied boarding.
