Blessed with some 50 kilometers of soft white sand kissed by the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, Punta Cana is nothing short of paradise. A pretty offshore reef, lots of rustling palms and lush, unspoiled countryside complete the idyllic picture.

The Punta Cana /Bavaro area is made up almost exclusively of lovely all-inclusive resorts geared toward couples and families. Some resorts in the area cater to sports-minded visitors (the area boasts several championship golf courses, including one designed by Jack Nicklaus in the Cap Cana area); others are couplesonly. But most resorts focus on family entertainment. Everything you need is on-site in your resort community and you need never even venture outside the gates unless you want to explore the deserted beaches and coconut groves that stretch as far as the eye can see.
